Signature Collars:

     

Our Signature Martingales are gentle, self-adjusting collars made using the finest fabrics and materials, from velvets, silks, plaids, grosgrain ribbons to denim and brocades.  Our handcrafted collars and leashes are all constructed using quality materials.  Collars are lined for comfort and triple stitched at stress points for durability.

We believe in our products so much that we only offer products that we use on our own dogs.

Collar Design Components:

* Martingale Design-Style: This collar is commonly used on sight hounds, but it is a wonderful design for all breeds of dogs.  It is also referred to as a “humane choke” collar, because the collar is made in 2 sections.  The martingale loop has the D-ring on it.  When the dog pulls on the D-ring, the collar snugs up around the neck.  If properly sized, the dog can not back out of it.  Most dog owners who have tried this just love it! 
                                                

* Quick Release: If you aren't interested in the martingale-styled collar, consider quick release attachments for easy on/easy off.  They come in 5/8", 1", and 1.5 inch widths. 
   
* Hardware: For the smaller 1” collars, brass-plated, solid brass, nickel plated or non-metallic materials are used.  The 1.5” and 2” width collars are made with solid brass or nickel plated hardware.  Frankly, the brass has gotten to be exceedingly expensive.  I have experienced a 149% increase in price of the last 3 years.  If you would like to help, send your clean, used hardware.

We may incorporate stainless steel or non-metallic Delrin slides or buckles, if the material has a strong black background (Delrin is a patented plastic, developed for nautical use).

   *Please note that while brass is a strong metal, it can be worn down by constant 'chaffing' with a metal clasp (particularly if you own a breed of dog that is left outside on a chain).  If so,  ask for the nickel plated hardware, which is more durable under those conditions.

* Ribbon Trims:  Fancy jacquard trims or grosgrain ribbons, silks, denims, etc.  We can add top stitching, beads and embroidery. 

* Linings:  Soft Pendleton wool, satin, coordinating grosgrain ribbon, or faux ultra suede.

* Webbing colors:  Trim is stitched to very sturdy webbing.
     5/8" webbings: Navy and black. 
      1” webbings: White, navy, black, dark green, hot pink and black. 
     1.5" webbings: Navy, purple, red, bright blue and black. 
      2" webbing: Black

* Stitching:   Triple row of double stitching at all stress points.

* Length:  Measure your dog’s neck for the correct size.  We add 2 inches to the length, to make it easier to get the collar over the dog’s head.  Please let us know if your dog needs additional length – i.e. a particularly large head. 

* Width: Decide on the width of collar that will best suit your pet.    

* Collar Care:  Hand washed or machine washed in cold water and mild detergent on gentle cycle.  Remove all tags, wrap the collar in a towel (so the hardware doesn't mar the washer drum) and place in a lingerie bag.  Air dry only, not in the dryer.
 

Leashes:

• Length: 4 feet as quoted.  Longer leashes are available for a small additional charge;
• Lined hand grip;
• Brass or nickel-plated clasp.

   Leashes for materials with no coordinating thinner material or that are wider than 1" in width can be arranged nicely on the webbing.  Please contact us to discuss this less costly alternative.

Harnesses: 

   The greyhounds have such extraordinarily long necks.  Health-wise, it is probably not in their best interest to be directed by the neck.  This harness allows you to control the dog by the upper body. 

• Slip over the pet’s head and have a quick release to allow you to fasten the strap around the dog’s chest. 
• D-ring attachment is located at the top of the harness. 
• Adjusts around the front of your dog’s chest (under their chin) and then around the circumference of the dog’s deep chest. 
• Sizes: medium and larger size in black webbing, with either brass plated or stainless steel attachments. Please provide your dog’s chest circumference.

"Helping Hands Harness (TM)

Older pet needs help?  This version has a handle on the top of the harness to help you support your older pet, when those legs are not quite so spry.  This one can be made in a 1.5” webbing to give you and the pet that extra security.  We have used it on our older dog and loved it.
